Hi, I’m Brian.

I am a cybersecurity professional working to build Civil Society Organizations’ technical and practical capacity in the face of fast-evolving digital threats and pushing to keep platforms and systems they depend on to be accountable for the harm they enable. I currently do Resilient Technical Infrastructures work at The Engine Room, helping civil society organizations stay secure and in control of their technology and data. Before this, I was a Tech & Society Fellow at the Mozilla Foundation, researching disinformation and algorithmic accountability.

I have a background in Mathematics and Computer Science. Here I write about what I build and learn: digital security, low-level programming, AI engineering, DevOps and the tech I love using. Plus the books I read and the records I spin.
