Dance of the Jakaranda

I read this during the pandemic 6 years ago, and I experienced it at a time when I had just discovered Chao Tayiana’s project, Save the Railway and it really brought the book to life for me. This is the book that really got me reading again and it’s one of my favorite Kenyan historical fictions. The Railways, music, empire, humor, betrayal, and the kind of family memory that refuses to stay politely in the past. Worth checking out.
